The SRRF is located on 16.5 acres adjacent to the Fink Road Landfill in the southwest corner of the County near the community of Crows Landing, off the Crows Landing Exit from Interstate 5 and about 25 miles from Modesto.  The exterior of the SRRF is similar to other modern day commercial operations; cars driving by on Interstate 5 neither see nor smell the garbage processed at SRRF.

The SRRF is not designed to receive waste directly from the public.  It is configured to receive the route collection trucks and transfer trucks operated by the companies permitted to collect residential and commercial waste in Stanislaus County.  The majority of the waste collected in Stanislaus County is “fuel” for the plant; any excess or unacceptable wastes are landfilled.
